This year’s conference theme:

Agriculture is a devolved competence and post-Brexit the Scottish Government (SG) chose to make its own arrangements for replacing support payments to farmers which were previously governed through the European Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

The Royal Society of Chemistry’s 23rd Science and the Parliament takes place on Wednesday 22nd November from 12.00pm until 7.30pm at Our Dynamic Earth, Holyrood Road, Edinburgh. The main theme for 2023 is education.

During the event, we will hear from a range of knowledge exchange experts, who'll engage in dialogue to facilitate learning across the themes of relationships, equity, impact and learning from past experience.

This is an in-person event which will run from 14.00 to 15.30 on Tuesday 22nd August in central Aberdeen (exact venue location will be confirmed once registered). If you wish to attend, you need to request a place (see practical information below).

There will be commercial breeders showcasing the latest varieties, machinery on show, agronomists demonstrating what's new in crop protection and researchers discussing their most recent findings. More details, and how to register, can be found here.  

This year SEFARI and SEFARI Gateway are delighted to be working on a number of activities around the Presidency theme of Scotland’s food journey and food stories, and more details will appear here shortly.

Objectives of the event: ❖ The event will provide an opportunity for researchers, including early career researchers, across the Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture Research Portfolio to showcase their research and highlight recent research outputs and impact.   

As in previous years, the conference will include a wide range of presentations, topics, keynote speakers, publication, and poster competitions.
